Today, we'll show you around the different golf course communities near OC and tell you a bit about what each area/community and golf course is like!

Ocean City Golf Club

Ocean City Golf Club Area Overview

While there isn't an official "community" that's a part of Ocean City Golf Club, there is a TON of real estate within 5-10 minutes from the club house.

The locals commonly refer to this area as "South Point." There is a wide variety of homes in South Point from multi-million-dollar homes on the water to more quaint single-family homes in the $500,000 range.

Life in South point is exceptionally quiet and is a common area for year-round locals to live. It's just far enough away to escape the busy OC summers, but close enough to downtown OC so that it's not a hassle to head into town or the beach if you would like! Furthermore, you're only about a 10–15-minute drive from Assateague National Seashore where you can enjoy a quiet beach day, take a walk or a bike ride, and even see the famous wild horses!

About Ocean City Golf Club

Ocean City Golf Club features two different 18-hole courses on its grounds- the Newport Bay & Seaside Course. Both courses feature unique challenges as the Seaside course is a bit "tighter" and more tucked into the trees while the Newport Bay course has more water hazards and space. Newport Bay has some absolutely stunning views, making for a great coastal area golfing experience.

Both courses are well maintained and are a great place to live & play just minutes from OCMD!

Glen Riddle

Glen Riddle Community Overview

Glen Riddle is one of the Largest and most popular golf course communities in the Ocean City, MD area. There are about 650 homes in this community that range from million dollar plus luxury waterfront single family homes to more quaint single-family homes in the $800,000-$1,000,000 range & waterfront townhomes in the community's marina that typically sell in the mid-500s.

Glen riddle features a number of amenities including their tennis and pickleball courts, community center with a full fitness center, saunas, locker rooms, an outdoor pool, a kiddie pool, and a marina. Life in Glen Riddle is convenient, as you have just about everything you need at your fingertips. There is also a wonderful community atmosphere with every group of people from Young Families to Retirees partaking in the numerous community activities and events that happen every year.

About Glen Riddle Golf Club

Similar to Ocean City Golf Club, Glen Riddle has two 18-hole courses on its grounds. These courses are named War Admiral and Man O War- which are 2 of the most famous racehorses in History. Both courses are very well maintained and offer different experiences with their designs.

Fun Fact: War Admiral and Man O War were both raised in the building that is now the club house and Ruth's Chris steakhouse, and you can still see remnants of their training track running along the golf course. Read a bit about the courses history here!

River Run

River Run Community Overview

River Run is another highly sought-after golf course community located just north of Ocean Pines, featuring a diverse range of several hundred homes. More recently, there have been many townhomes constructed in the area, and there are more single-family homes being built as we speak. Homes in the River Run community typically range from the 325–600-thousand-dollar range… with exceptions of course.

River Run also has a number of awesome community amenities such as their outdoor pool, fitness center, and tennis courts. The streets that connect all of the River Run community aren't too busy, so it's also more than safe to walk your dog or go for a jog through the neighborhood!

Life in River Run is quiet, convenient, and the community has a very friendly atmosphere. A decent amount of homeowners in the community are full time residents, so there's plenty of opportunities to make new friends. Furthermore, no matter where you’re here, you’re a short drive or walk to your amenities and the golf clubhouse, and about a 15-minute drive to the beach!

About River Run Golf Club

River Run Golf club offers a wonderful and affordable golf experience just minutes from Ocean City, MD. This Gary Player designed golf course features a wide variety of holes and a well-maintained course. One thing we will say is this course is tight- so bring plenty of balls!

Ocean Pines

Ocean Pines Community Overview

We go into more depth about Ocean Pines in our OCMD community guide than we will here- but as you probably already know, Ocean Pines is the largest "community" in the OCMD area by far. With well over 5,000 homes, there's bound to be at least one that fits your style & price range. Ocean Pines homes range anywhere from $300,000 to over a million dollars depending on a number of factors, but most importantly location. Ocean Pines Waterfront homes typically start at about $600,000 (give or take) and are some of the most highly sought after properties in our area.

While living in Ocean Pines does not give you immediate access to all of the community amenities, they do have multiple tennis/pickleball courts, their marina, a community center, multiple playgrounds, a beach club in Ocean City, pools, and more!

Life in Ocean Pines is a simple one. With friendly neighbors everywhere you look, a grocery store and just about every amenity within a 5–10-minute drive, and the beach just 15 minutes away, you have everything you could ever need at your fingertips. Ocean Pines is especially popular for retirees transitioning into their next phase of life, so if that's you...

About Ocean Pines Golf Club:

Ocean Pines Golf Club was established in 1972 and features 18 holes of great golf that merges its way through the neighborhood. That may make it sound like there's not a lot of room- but believe us, that isn't the case at all. Ocean Pines golf club is home to many golf tournaments every year and has a recently renovated Bar/Restaurant in the club house! The course is well maintained and is a relatively budget friendly option as well.

Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links

Rum Pointe Area Overview

While Rum Pointe Golf Club doesn't have a community attached, there are some truly stunning homes that rest between the 15th and 16th holes of the golf course. Rum Pointe is very close in proximity to Ocean City Golf club, so we won't waste too much of your time explaining the same area twice.

About Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links

Rum Pointe Seaside Golf links is one of our favorite courses in the area. It was designed by world renowned golf course architect, Pete Dye, who did a splendid job with the course.

The front 9 features mostly "open" holes with water Hazards running along many of them, and the back 9 begins in a more wooded area, providing a diverse experience for each player. Furthermore, this course is exceptionally well maintained, and its greens are lighting fast- especially in the summertime.

The Links at Lighthouse Sound

Lighthouse Sound Community Overview:

The Lighthouse Sound community rests right off of Saint martin Neck Rd & Rt. 90 in Bishopville, MD. There are under 100 homes/lots in the Lighthouse Sound community. Most of the homes in this area are 1+ million dollars, and rest on expansive lots. There are some truly stunning homes in Lighthouse Sound, however they seldom come on the market simply because there aren't many homes in the area.

What Lighthouse Sound lacks in amenities it makes up for with space and luxury. As mentioned, all of the homes in this area are stunning and sit on large lots. While you don't have a long list of amenities, you do have great golf course views, privacy, and the Lighthouse Sound restaurant which has stunning views and GREAT food.

About The Links at Lighthouse Sound

The Links at Lighthouse Sound is another one of our favorite golf courses in the area. This course features stunning views of Ocean City, MD from the west side of the Assawoman Bay on the front 9, and even has the longest golf cart bridge in America!

Similar to other courses in the area, there is a very nice variety of holes that stretch along the water and "tighter" holes with trees lining the fairway. The views and condition of Lighthouse Sound are unparalleled, and while golf is a bit more expensive here, it's worth it.

Eagles Landing Golf Course

Eagles Landing Area Overview:

While Eagles landing doesn't have an official community that's associated with the golf course, there is a TON of real estate nearby. You can find just about any type of home you can think of within 5-10 minutes of Eagles Landing from town homes to single family homes & more.

Eagles landing is located just north of Ocean City Golf Club and Rum Pointe and is right next to the Ocean City Municipal Airport... and when we say "right next to" we mean it. On one of your approach shots it truly feels like you could hit a plane that's landing.

There are a number of great communities near Eagles Landing such as Bayside and Sea Oaks Village which has some wonderful new construction townhomes.

About Eagles Landing Golf Course

Eagles Landing Golf Course is yet another one of our favorites in the area with 18 holes that will test any golfer’s game. Similar to most other courses in our area, Eagles Landing is very well maintained and has a great variety of holes to keep you on your toes. Uniquely, they are committed to limiting their use of chemical pesticides to preserve the Salt Marshes and the surrounding lands natural habitat- even more reason to go & play eagles landing!
