Adagio is a mid-rise oceanfront condominium building completed in 2002 and located at 5901 Atlantic Avenue in Mid-Town Ocean City. The building rises five stories and contains a total of 56 residential units, giving it a relatively contained scale compared to larger oceanfront developments. All residences are three-bedroom layouts, reflecting a straightforward unit mix designed around consistency rather than variety.
The building is professionally managed and includes a limited but functional set of amenities, such as an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and meeting room, intended to support both owners and short-term guests without operating as a resort-style complex. Its oceanfront setting and proximity to the Route 90 bridge place it in a location that functions well for second-home owners and part-time rental use, particularly for buyers seeking direct beach access combined with practical in-and-out access to Ocean City.
Back to section links ↑Adagio offers a focused set of essential on-site amenities that support everyday use for owners and guests in its Mid-Town Ocean City oceanfront setting.
Amenities include:
Adagio features a more streamlined selection of floor plans focused on a specific unit style, offering consistency across the building’s layout options.

Interior layouts, square footage, and finishes vary by unit, floor level, and ownership.
Adagio is one of those oceanfront buildings that came along just before Ocean City’s early-2000s real estate boom. When it was completed, it was genuinely one of the newest and nicest oceanfront and oceanblock options in town.
Most people focus on the oceanfront aspect, and sure, that’s important. But I’ll be honest, the location relative to getting in and out of Ocean City is what really sets Adagio apart. The building sits less than three blocks from the Route 90 bridge. That means you can arrive in Ocean City and arrive at your condo almost at the same time. Anyone who has spent summer weekends sitting in traffic understands how valuable that is.
While I don’t believe there’s a single bad floorplan or location in this building, it’s worth noting the 1st floor oceanfront residences, sit level with the dunes (blocking your ocean views). And the 04-stacks, which are the side units closest to the ocean, also happen to be just ‘slightly’ larger than the rest of the neighboring residences on the side.
For second-home owners, that convenience changes how often you actually use the property. Short trips feel easier. Weekend escapes feel realistic. It’s one of those things you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve owned somewhere else.
Adagio is a strong building, with great professional management, and well positioned to hold it’s own for years to come.
Adagio is typically best suited for:
Some of the most common mistakes buyers make when evaluating Adagio include:
Short-term rentals are permitted at Adagio, and the building is commonly used for a mix of second-home ownership and part-time rental use. With a strong rental potential designation and an oceanfront Mid-Town Ocean City setting, demand is typically tied to buyers and guests looking for direct beach access and water views, while still recognizing that rental activity can vary by season and by unit characteristics.
Adagio supports rental use through a focused set of essential on-site amenities and practical features that can matter to both owners and guests, along with a moderate level of name recognition in the market. The building’s rental fit is also shaped by specific factors noted by local observation—such as how the lack of an outdoor pool may affect some renters, while the indoor amenities and boutique feel can appeal to families seeking an oceanfront experience without a larger hi-rise environment—so buyers should evaluate unit positioning, rules, and management details as part of normal due diligence.
Homeowner association fees at Adagio vary based on unit size and location. HOA fees generally contribute to building maintenance, amenity upkeep, insurance, management, and common area utilities.
Parking policies, pet rules, and rental guidelines should be reviewed during the contract process, as association policies may evolve over time.
Adagio generally sees a moderate level of resale activity, with buyer interest shaped by its oceanfront setting in Mid-Town Ocean City and its mid-rise scale. Demand tends to come from second-home and part-time rental buyers who prioritize direct beach access and water views, and the building’s moderate name recognition typically keeps it on the radar without creating the kind of rapid turnover associated with larger, more amenity-heavy communities.
Within Adagio, pricing differences are most often driven by factors that vary from unit to unit, including view orientation and how each residence is positioned within the building. Buyers also tend to evaluate practical characteristics such as layout consistency (given the limited floor plan variety), overall condition, and how the building’s focused amenity offering aligns with their intended use, keeping expectations grounded and specific to the individual unit rather than assuming uniformity across the property.
Adagio is conveniently located near many popular Mid-Town Ocean Citydestinations, including:
Adagio gets grouped with Avalon and Astoria because of similar era and oceanblock positioning. 4100 enters when someone starts comparing Convention Center proximity and floorplan size. Meridian comes into play when buyers shift toward oceanfront newer construction. Adagio often appeals to buyers who want quick access in and out of town and a strong midtown location without stepping into high-rise territory.
Is Adagio oceanfront?
Yes, the Adagio is situated directly on the oceanfront with 3 direct oceanfront units on each floor, and 11 side-view units on each floor; there are multiple square-footage options based on the tier.
Is there assigned parking at Adagio?
Yes, there are 2 assigned parking spaces per unit.
Does Adagio have a pool?
Yes, the Adagio has an indoor pool, and also features a hot tub.
Is there elevator access at Adagio?
Yes, there is an elevator in the Adagio.
Is Adagio pet-friendly?
Owners are permitted to have pets. Renters & guests of owners are not permitted to bring pets due to insurance liability reasons.
