What's New for Summer 2026
The brand new spots opening this season
Brasa, 33rd Street. The former Guido's Burritos location has been gutted and rebuilt for a concept that combines Argentine asado grilling with Tuscan Italian cooking. Founder Rocco DiFilippo describes it as "fire, simplicity, and flavor," with premium meats, fresh seafood, and seasonal vegetables cooked over open flame. Targeted to open soon. Worth watching their website for the official opening date.
Surfin' Bettys Burger Bar, 127th Street. The Surfin' Bettys team has opened a second Ocean City location in the former Tony Luke's spot in North OC, complementing their original 15th Street location. Same char grilled Angus burger formula that built the brand, now more accessible to those in north OC.
The Core Club at 81st Street. The Core Club has been building a following in Berlin and Salisbury with their 50 minute reformer classes. This summer they're opening their first Heated Sculpt and Barre Studio in Ocean City proper, on 81st Street, with a sit down café and juice bar downstairs. This place has some of OC's freshest juices, coffee, light bites, and a workout space that takes wellness seriously. For those who want a different kind of beach week balance.

Newer spots you may not have tried yet
Three places worth knowing about if you haven't been to OC in a year or two:
Oyster and Scales, 306 Dorchester Street. Fine dining seafood on the bay with a Nantucket and Cape Cod oyster house aesthetic. Reservations recommended, especially for sunset tables.
Jolly Jellyfish Beach Club, 9800 Coastal Highway at The Plaza on 98th Street. Oceanfront casual bar and grill with outdoor dining, live music, and great vibes. Good lunch or happy hour stop if you want something laid back.
The Hideaway at Seacrets, 5005 Coastal Highway. Located right next to Seacrets but operating at a completely different register. Upscale bayside dining in midtown OC, mixology focused bar, chef driven menu, two bars with the bay in front of you. Open every day from 4 to 11 PM. Reservations recommended.
Summer 2026 Events Calendar
Here's what to put on the calendar, in date order.
Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 through 25. The unofficial kickoff. Beaches open, boardwalk humming, restaurants and attractions in full swing. We covered this one in detail in our Memorial Day Weekend in Ocean City MD 2026 guide.
OC Jeep Week, May 28 through 31. The original Jeep Week, founded in 2010, returns to the Inlet Parking Lot. Daily Jeep parades, sand obstacle course on the beach, vendors, show and shine. Spectator admission is free. Expect concentrated downtown activity and busier inlet traffic those four days.
OC Air Show, June 13 and 14. This one is genuinely special. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds headline, and the French Air and Space Force has chosen the OC Air Show to kick off the Patrouille de France's "Liberté 250" U.S. tour celebrating America's 250th birthday. Red, white, and blue smoke from both teams over the beach between roughly 12th and 17th Streets. Best free seats are anywhere on the sand from the Inlet to 30th Street.
July 4 Fireworks: Two Locations for America's 250th. For the 250th anniversary, the town is staging two simultaneous celebrations:
- Downtown at North Division Street: The Broken Hearts (Tom Petty tribute band) at 6 PM, live speed painter Jessica K Haas at 7 PM, Real Diamond (Neil Diamond tribute band) at 8 PM, fireworks at 9:30 PM.
- Uptown at Northside Park (125th and Bay): DJ BK and Radio Ocean City at 8 PM, fireworks at 9:30 PM.
Plan transit early. Both areas will be congested by 7 PM and traffic clears slowly after the shows.
White Marlin Open, August 3 through 8. The 53rd annual White Marlin Open, the world's largest billfishing tournament, debuts a new six day format this year. Boats can now fish three out of six days, giving captains flexibility around offshore weather. Free public weigh ins happen daily at Harbour Island Marina, 14th Street and the bay, typically from 4 PM through 9:15 PM. Marlin Fest runs alongside on the beach at the Inlet, 11 AM to 9 PM with live music, food, and the live weigh in stream. Watching a multi million dollar fish hit the scale in person is a singular Ocean City experience.
OC Jeep Fest, August 25 through 30. Separate event from May's Jeep Week. Centered around 40th Street and the Convention Center, six days of Jeep culture, vendor village, daily beach crawls, and Show and Shine competitions.
OC Rock-n-Ride / BikeFest, September 9 through 13. Formerly Bike Week. Coincides with Delmarva Bike Week and brings well over 100,000 riders to the lower Eastern Shore. Two vendor villages at the Inlet and the Convention Center, daily live music, and the kind of late summer energy that signals the season is shifting.

Sundaes in the Park
When: Sundays, June 7 through August 30, 7 to 9 PM
Where: Northside Park, 127th Street and the Bay
Free family concert series at Northside Park with live music, free kids' activities, ice cream available for purchase, and sunset over Assawoman Bay. Stick around afterward for fireworks. The 2026 lineup spans Neil Diamond and Stevie Nicks tribute bands, 80s and 90s party music, blues, dance, and classic rock cover bands. Bring a picnic, beach chairs, and let the kids run.
Movies on the Beach
Family friendly films projected onto a giant beach screen at the 27th Street and Dorchester Street beaches, weekly through summer. Pack a blanket, snacks, and sweatshirts. Free.
Thursday Night Fireworks
Free weekly fireworks shows from the beach at Northside Park on Thursday evenings during peak summer. Combined with sunset over the bay, it's one of the most underrated free experiences in OC.
Practical 2026 Update: Getting Around
One important change for visitors this summer: the Boardwalk tram is closed. The town is exploring alternatives but no replacement has been announced for 2026.
Practical options for moving between the south end of the boardwalk and your hotel or condo:
- Walk or bike: The boardwalk runs roughly 2.9 miles from the Inlet to 27th Street. Easy on foot or on your bike, which you can ride on the boardwalk from 2 AM to noon during the summer season. Bike rentals are available from our friends at Bike World.
- Coastal Highway bus: Runs the length of the island, north and south. Day passes are inexpensive and a reliable backup for hot afternoons or post fireworks returns.
- Rideshare: Uber and Lyft both operate in OC. Expect surge pricing on Friday and Saturday nights and after major events.
- Boardwalk bikes: Allowed on the boardwalk during posted morning hours.

Looking Past Summer: Fall Festival Season
If your travel window extends past Labor Day, the fall festival lineup is worth knowing about:
- Oceans Calling Festival, September 25 through 27. Dave Matthews Band, Twenty One Pilots, and Mumford and Sons headline this three day event at the Inlet, fourth annual.
- Country Calling Festival, October 2 and 3. Lainey Wilson, Rascal Flatts, Chris Stapleton, and Miranda Lambert lead the third annual country counterpart.
- Endless Summer Cruisin', October 8 through 11. The 29th annual fall classic car show.
- Sunfest, October 22 through 25. Free four day arts, crafts, music, and food festival marking its 50th anniversary at the Inlet.
September through October has become its own peak season in Ocean City. Warmer ocean water than people expect, lighter crowds during the week, and back to back festival weekends.
