Plantation House is one of the original boutique oceanfront buildings that helped define large-format oceanfront condo living in Ocean City.

Built in 1999, the building contains eight residences, with two large three-bedroom units per floor. While the condos do not occupy entire floors, they still deliver more square footage than many newer boutique properties, along with impressive wraparound balconies.

One of my favorite nuances here involves the north-end units. The oceanfront lot immediately to the north is not another building. It’s a pool belonging to the Surfside 84 condominium located behind it. That lack of a neighboring structure opens up and expands the views for those north-facing residences in a way most people don’t expect.

Plantation House continues to appeal to buyers who want generous oceanfront living, boutique scale, and a sense of privacy that’s increasingly difficult to find.
