Irene by the Sea is a completely separate building from the Irene high-rise, and that distinction matters.

Located in North Ocean City directly on the oceanfront, this is a small association with some very unique characteristics. The most important one to understand up front is that rentals are not allowed here, of any kind. This is a true owner-focused building, and the atmosphere reflects that.

One of my favorite fun facts about Irene by the Sea is the size of the two-bedroom condos. They’re some of the largest two-bedroom residences in Ocean City, and there’s a reason for it. These units were originally designed as three-bedroom layouts, but the developer didn’t have enough parking to meet requirements. Rather than shrinking the footprint, they became oversized two-bedroom units, often with bonus rooms or flexible spaces.

That design choice created something rare: large, comfortable residences that feel more like private beach homes than condos. For buyers looking for oceanfront living with a quiet, residential feel, Irene by the Sea is a very specific, and very compelling, fit.
